With a last-minute add to the entry list, Thomas jumped into the Mike Cope Racecars #26 for the weekend. After a couple short practice sessions, they went out for qualifying and struggled to find clear track. After pitting for a short break, Thomas went back out and seized the pole position in spectacular fashion, setting the best lap of the session and a new track record as he took the checkered flag.
The advantage of starting on pole at the shirt, 1.5-mile track was everything, and Thomas used it to lead the race from flag-to-flag, fighting off the rest of the field all-race long.
